George Vernon Yates was a Victorian-era commercial photographer active in Sheffield, England, during the late 19th century (mainly 1880s–1890s and into the early 1900s). He is not as widely documented as major national studios, but he is well represented in surviving cabinet cards and cartes de visite, which were popular studio portrait formats of the Victorian period.
