Description: The part of the goggles that comes into contact with the skin is covered with a velvet rim for a comfortable fit. Ventilation holes prevent fogging. For more comfortable wear, the strap can be replaced with an elastic band.
Swiss Army snow goggles were designed for mountain riflemen to protect their eyes from the sun’s glare on glaciers. Notable examples date from the 1920s and the World War II era. These early goggles featured brass rims, black paint to prevent reflections, dark green glass lenses, and a velvet lining for comfort and anti-fogging.
