Pipe Cleaner People

Make fun pipe cleaner people with beads and wool! This easy kids’ craft is a creative activity for children using simple materials and imagination.

What you need:
1 pipe cleaner, 300 mm long (for the body and legs)
1 pipe cleaner, 150 mm long (for the arms)
Some wool for the hair
1 larger bead for the head
Beads for the body

Make the head: Paint a face onto the larger bead
Attach the head: Bend the long pipe cleaner in half to make a loop. Thread the loop through the head bead.

Add the hair: Push some wool through the loop at the top of the pipe cleaner. Pull the ends of the pipe cleaner down to hold the wool in place. Now your person has hair!

Add the arms: Bend the shorter pipe cleaner around the body pipe cleaner just below the head. These will be the arms.
Make the body: Thread 3–4 beads onto both strands of the long pipe cleaner to make the torso.
Make the legs: Separate the two strands of the long pipe cleaner and thread beads onto each one to make the legs.

Give your pipe cleaner person a haircut if needed to make their hairstyle just right!
