Google about history of Toledo jewelry: Toledo jewelry refers to Spanish damascene (damasquinado), an art of inlaying gold and silver threads into blackened steel, originating in Toledo, Spain, and becoming the European capital of this craft around the 15th century. The tradition, passed down through generations, features Renaissance motifs (birds and flowers) and Arabesque geometric designs.
