History about the figurines: 1950s figures from the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge) by FAMOS. These figures are called Rosswein flat figures. They have been produced in the German town of Rosswein since 1907. In the 1930s, the company was taken over by Alfred Berthold and Georg Zöllner and, after the Second World War, 1945 nationalized as FAMOS Leipzig. Famos was a state-owned enterprise (VEB) in the GDR, where it remained until the early 1960s. These figures are beautiful exhibits for old model railways or steam engines.
