History Clipsal: The brand originated in 1920 in Adelaide, Australia, when Alfred Gerard developed a range of adjustable metal pipe fittings suitable for all pipe sizes. The slogan “fits all sizes” was shortened to the brand name Clipsal. Under Alfred’s son, Geoff Gerard, the company achieved several breakthroughs. In 1930, it produced the first switch manufactured entirely in Australia. In the 1950s, the company pioneered the use of thermoplastics in its electrical accessories. Over time, the company expanded its product range from pipe fittings to a wide variety of electrical installation accessories: switches, sockets, lighting controls, and more.
