Sandwich Cake recipe converted to metric measurements:
Ingredients (Metric):
- 
113 g flour (quarter of a pound) 
- 
113 g sugar 
- 
1 large egg 
- 
Pinch of salt 
- 
5 ml (1 teaspoon) baking powder 
- 
15 g butter (about the size of a walnut) 
- 
A little milk (as needed) 
Method:
- 
Rub the butter into the flour. 
- 
Add sugar, salt, and baking powder. 
- 
Beat the egg and pour it over the flour mixture. 
- 
Mix well, adding a little milk if necessary to thin the batter. 
- 
Pour into a greased tin. 
- 
Bake in a moderate oven (about 20 to 25 minutes at 180°C (350°F). 
-
