Cookies (Metric Version)
- 
1 egg 
- 
400 g sugar 
- 
240 ml sweet milk or cold water 
- 
120 g butter 
- 
120 g lard 
- 
3 teaspoons cream of tartar (approx. 12 g) 
- 
1.5 teaspoons baking soda (sifted) (approx. 6 g) 
- 
Enough flour to stiffen (start with ~500 g and adjust as needed) 
- 
Spices to taste (e.g., cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice) 
- 
Additional sugar for sprinkling 
Instructions
- 
Mix all ingredients, adding flour gradually until dough is stiff enough to roll. 
- 
Roll out the dough and cut into shapes. 
- 
Sprinkle with sugar. 
-
