Lemon Buns recipe converted to metric units:

  • 450 grams flour

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 170 grams butter and lard mixed

  • Grated rind and juice of 1 lemon

  • 170 grams caster sugar

  • 1 egg

  • A little milk (approx. 2-3 tablespoons as needed)

Instructions:
  1. Rub the butter and lard into the flour.

  2. Add the baking powder, sugar, lemon rind and juice.

  3. Mix in the egg and enough milk to form a dough.

  4. Shape into small buns.

  5. Bake in a hot oven at 220°C (430°F) for 15 minutes.
