History of Dore & Co A carte de visit from the photographic studio Dore & Co. (formerly Austen & Co.) was taken at 232 Mare Street in Hackney. This studio was in operation at least as far back as the late 19th century. Historical records show that 232 Mare Street was used as a rental property in 1869, suffered a small fire in 1880, and was a polling station in 1892.
